Emily Broeman, MSW Intern

Emily Broeman is a graduate social work student at Columbia University where she expects to receive a Masters in Social Work May 2009.  She became interested in maternal mental health in high school while briefly interning in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. As an undergraduate sociology student at St. Lawrence University, she furthered her studies in maternal health through her work with a midwife.  Ms. Broeman is currently working towards a concentration in clinical mental health.

As a Social Work Intern, she gained first hand experience working with groups while facilitating a socialization group with the elderly at a senior center on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Ms. Broeman is currently interning at Bellevue hospital, in the Crime Victims Unit, where she is being trained to counsel clients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.  Emily Broeman earned her B.A. in sociology from St. Lawrence University and expects to receive her MSW from Columbia University in May of 2009.

Emily comes to Blue Skye Consulting, LLC to further her specialty interest and training  in maternal mental health. She will be co-facilitator of the newly formed group, Socialization and Skills Group for New Mothers.
