Melanie Blocker Stokes MOTHERS Act included in Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act!!
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act now includes postpartum depression legislation calling for research and funding for treatment/support protocols. Its passage and the inclusion of women's reproductive mental health in Healthcare Reform signals the end of the silent stigma that has reduced access to needed services and information for millions of American mothers.
Thank you to everyone who signed this petition galvanizing national attention on the need for its inclusion. Thank you for your continuing commitment to this long sought federal mandate and your work to bring women's reproductive mental health services to every community in America!
